Yesterday I was on a podcast interview and was asked how I set up my business so that I only work 3-5 hours a day (minus Fridays and weekends) and STILL have a successful coaching practice.
First of all, I love this question, because it highlights so many elements of who I am: a freedom lover (so grateful I can decide if I need a day off or not, no one to call!) who's sometimes lazy (or you could say a master of receiving LOL), feel-good searching (candlelit bubble baths y'all), and a super efficient + effective worker (I get most of the day's urgent work done in 1-2 hours).
Here's why I've always worked 20 hours a week (sometimes less): When I started my coaching business, I committed to doing what I want when I want. Freedom (with a little structure that works for me of course).
I told myself, if I was gonna start and run my own business, I wanted to make damn sure I was running it and not the other way around.
Besides, I've never subscribed to what people or society tell me to do anyways (ask my mom). So the idea of being a 24/7 entrepreneur, fielding e-mails left and right at any time of day, simply didn't feel good.
And you, my love, must commit to what feels good before committing to anything else.
Yes I delight in making bank doing what I love, yes I adore my clients, and I also value my freedom. All those things in balance with each other feels good.
If you want to build your coaching practice in a similar way, with my trademark mix of soul and strategy, you truly are not gonna wanna miss this...
