Beyoncé's new album 🐝 🤠

If you're like me and you hear about news a little later than other people (LOL), then you found out about the new Beyoncé album more than 36 hours after it dropped.

Picture me at rehearsal on Saturday with total glee on my face when my fellow dancer friends clued me in. I WAS SMILING SO BIG!

A few hours later, somebody told me it was a country album and I was immediately intrigued...also giggled a little when I saw a comment saying we went from Beehive to Bee-HAW!

But it makes sense! Beyoncé grew up in Houston, Texas and we have that Texas connection in common because I spent my elementary childhood years an hour north of that city.

I remember listening to Shania Twain in the carpool with my friend's mom. I remember Dixie Chicks "Wide Open Spaces" ringing in my ears.

That time in my life was also when I first felt super connected to nature and community, two things that country music explores a lot.

And to be honest, I've never really been that wild about country music, but by now, you know that I pretty much love anything that Beyoncé creates.

So on Sunday morning, Angelo and I listened to the whole album while cooking up some Easter pasta.

We were both so impressed at the way she crosses and mixes genres so effortlessly. That and the fact that neither of us got bored listening to the whole thing, even though it's a 27-track album!

I even heard Angelo listening to it again later that night when he took a shower. He switched up his usual Leoni Torres salsa shower music to play Cowboy Carter HAHA!

When we looked into the meaning behind it, we came across a lot of depth, intention, and devotion...an artist who's been creating music and movements for over 25 years.

She's an entrepreneur in her own right and redefines what it means to be in the entertainment industry, which is why she's one of my greatest inspirations for being in business today.

If you were gonna do things differently than everyone else, what would you do? If you could create a movement, what would it be about? If you could dedicate your work to a group of people, who would it be for?

These are questions that bring the SOUL back into your business. It breathes life into it. And yes, like Beyoncé, we can have a healthy mix of soul AND strategy.
