Yesterday, Angelo and I got back from Playa del Carmen, Mexico where we were celebrating two years since we met, which yes was during the pandemic.
I stumbled upon him and a group of people salsa dancing in Central Park and we haven't looked back since!
This trip was something we planned way before August got a little crazy for both of us...
For me, that meant almost two weeks with my family in Mexico after my abuelo passed plus my friend's last-minute wedding in Colombia last weekend, then Mexico again this weekend.
For Angelo, that meant his yearly summer trip to Italy, a work conference, that same last-minute wedding, then Mexico all with only two days between each flight LOL.
Would we have booked this Playa del Carmen trip if we knew things would get this packed?
Probably not, but what we realized is that life gets crazy no matter what, so might as well plan the things you actually really WANT to do before your life gets filled up with all the things that pop up, amiright?
When we landed back here, it felt like such a relief to see rain pitter pattering on the airplane windows, almost like I could wash away the cray cray of the month and focus on the things that bring me deep peace, which includes writing emails like this to you.
As I write, it's still pretty cloudy, my favorite kind of day, a preference that I think I inherited from my abuelita. We're both fiery souls, so the clouds and rain feel like a refuge for us.
